Services Overview |
|
This year is the first year that WLUSU has a Services department, as in prior years Services and Activities were placed together in one department. WLUSU Services Department consists of the following 6 committees; Foot Patrol, Food Bank, BACCHUS, Legal Resources, EcoHawks, Laurier Students for Literacy. Each committee offers the student body a variety of resources to utilize, from a safe walk home program to programming on being alcohol conscious. Not only do each of these services offer resources for students but gives them an opportunity to get involved within the Students Union. As everyone knows Foot Patrol is our safe walk home program and we encourage all student and staff to use Foot Patrol as no walk is too short! Food Bank is a service which is offered to all students regardless of their financial status. It is an anonymous program which gives students food or toiletry supplies for 2-3 days. BACCHUS is present throughout campus by working along side Hawk Team and the Brantford community to boost sex and alcohol awareness. Our Legal Resource committee offers advice to our student body about living off campus and books buses to the LSATs. This year is the first year will be having EcoHawks on this campus and there are big plans within the works for the committee with a variety of campaigns and initiatives to make our campus eco-friendly. LSFL this year has added additional programming that will now not only offer support to the Brantford community but also to the Laurier Student Body. If you would like more information on each of the committees please click on the Services title at the top of the page. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at ascaramozzino@wlu.ca.
